NCAA Hockey: Player Portrait Peter Schneider – From Vienna to Notre Dame

Peter Schneider is a Senior at Notre Dame and an Alternate Captain on the young Irish squad. He is from Vienna, Austria, which is renowned worldwide for a lot of things but not necessarily producing elite ice hockey players. I have been following his career ever since he arrived at Notre Dame and could witness his journey in the NCAA where he developed into one of the team’s leaders. He is a ferocious forechecker, terrific penalty killer and the ultimate team player who assumes any role assigned by the coach. Not only is Peter an excellent hockey player, but he also excels in the classroom where he holds a 3.95 GPA, with a double major in economics and finance and a minor actuarial science (this is a heavy academic load by itself even for a regular student).
